Why Strong Muscles Don't Always Prevent Pain

1 min read

Many people assume that stronger muscles automatically mean less pain.

Sometimes that's true.

Sometimes it isn't.

Strength is only one piece of the puzzle.

Pain can also be influenced by:

  • Mobility

  • Coordination

  • Recovery

  • Stress

  • Movement habits

Strong but dysfunctional

It's possible to be strong while still:

  • Moving inefficiently

  • Compensating for limitations

  • Overloading certain areas

Function matters

The body performs best when strength works together with mobility and control.

Look at the whole picture

If you're strong but still experiencing discomfort, strength may not be the issue.

If pain persists despite staying active and strong, physiotherapy can help identify other factors contributing to your symptoms.
